| DJ NICENESS Presents ACROSS THE POND ‘Mixbag Of Music’ This is a great project that we got sent here at HHB Radio. It comes from Midland’s Radio & Mixtape deejay ‘DJ Niceness’ and really is a great selection of independent music. What Niceness has done here is keep the music more on a vibe rather than a style which works so well in the mix. He covers all styles of urban music including Soul, R’n’B, positive Hip-Hop, Jazz, Slow Jams, Gospel and a touch of reggae but I think it would be fair to say its mainly on a Neo Soul tip. It’s hosted by the legendary producer Herb Middleton who has worked with the likes of Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Biggie and Nas amongst others and its forty eight tracks deep. This is a serious project and it comes on two discs (if you download and burn it to a CD like I did!), and made stand up and realise how much talent there is in the UK and the US. All the tracks impressed but the artists who really stood out to me was Coco Brown, Lisa Zure, Kipper Jones, Subliminal, Nicky Taurus, China Blac, Jeff Murral, Guilty Pleasures, Tommy, Clover Ray, Drea and Brooke Bailey. The beauty of it is you can make your own mind up because it’s an official FREE download from the links below! Support independent music and spread the word on these acts. There’s so much talent plastered over this mixtape its actually kind of crazy to think what the major labels are doing, not just over here in UK but also in the USA. This is real soul music that is perfect for those soulful Sundays or just to relax and unwind too. I can’t wait for more mixes from DJ Niceness!
