Ghost ‘Freedom of Thought E.P. 1’ I’m sitting in front of the computer here at 10.00 pm on a Friday night enjoying a couple of those new Stella’s (the weaker 4% efforts, co’s I can’t be dealing with the hangover tomorrow) anyway I think I’ve found my perfect musical companion and it’s this new Ghost Freedom of Thought EP. The first track after the intro is called ‘Way You Feel’ and reminds me of DJ Shadow’s production when he was rolling with the Mo Wax massive which certainly aint a bad thing as the instrumental offering bangs at the same time as uplifts and floats the senses, one word excellent. Track Three is called ‘S’all Good ’ and is a slowed down mellow groove complete with sharp snares and wonderfully mesmerizing vocal harmonies and a smooth rap courtesy of Finale, nice! Track four is another instrumental called ‘Feel Pain’ and contains a great low strung blues guitar coupled with classical strings over a really chunky break and some vocoder sounding voices thrown in the mix for good measure. The final track is a piano led loop that continually rolls over a very well produced progressive break that also features Jehst spitting some intricate bars. I really enjoyed listening to this E.P. and it’s showed me that Ghost is defiantly a talent with a original and thought provoking sound!
